PROFILE - MARIE WILSON

Marie Wilson hit the music scene running. Her single, 'Next Time', blitzed the Top 40 and earned her two ARIA nominations and the honour of being voted Best New Australian Artist at the Australian Radio Industry Awards.

She was the first Australian since INXS to sign with giant US label, Atlantic Records and by the end of 1999 her introductory album, 'Real Life', was performing way beyond expectations and two tracks from it, 'Next Time' and 'Won't Keep A Good Girl Down', were included in the top singles of the year.

Marie collaborated with Bryan Adams and went on to record the song, Heartbreak that is set to be the lead single from her next album, due out in Australia 2002. Her collaboration with some of America's top songwriters has caught the attention of Hollywood's major film and television studios and landed her, amongst other things, the prestigious job of penning and performing 'Free', the closing track on the movie, 'Anywhere But Here', starring Susan Sarandon and Natalie Portman, and a request by 'Dawson's Creek's' Music Supervisor, John McCullough, to write for the forthcoming episodes of the top-rating television series. Also included on Marie's forthcoming album is collaboration with Ricky Martin co-writer and producer, Desmond Child.

If she needs a sign of her acceptance into the elite Los Angeles song writing set it's the fact that she now receives a regular flow of TV and movie scripts for consideration, a mark of great respect for her talent and professionalism and her reward for taking a gamble and making the breaks. Marie has enjoyed great success in TV/Movie songwriting, but her passion lies in live performances and is committed to taking her music to the world, live!
